Designing for play, alongside educators
I’m the founder and director of Wearthy, and the author of The Ecology of Play™, published by Gryphon House.
For fourteen years I’ve designed and built play environments for childcare groups and schools around the world, working directly alongside the educators who use them every day. That work sits behind my TEDx talk, “How to Raise Resilient Children in a Fear Based World,” and behind ongoing partnerships with Kaplan Early Learning Company and Guidecraft in the United States, and with childcare groups and schools internationally.
Boards, conferences and the podcast
I’m a board member of the Australian Institute of Play, and present at NAEYC and ECA conferences.
I also host the Play It Forward podcast, now two seasons in, sitting down with some of the most respected play advocates and researchers working today: voices like Richard Louv, who coined the term nature deficit disorder, Lenore Skenazy of Free Range Kids, and Dr June O’Sullivan OBE of the London Early Years Foundation, among others shaping how the world thinks about childhood and play.
